Procedures

Colonoscopy

The colonoscopy is an exam to detect any problems or changes in your colon, large intestine, and rectum. We will insert a long, flexible tube with a tiny video camera attached is inserted into the rectum. The camera will allow our doctors to inspect the entire colon to ensure there are no underlying issues. If necessary, polyps or other types of abnormal tissue can be removed through the scope during a colonoscopy. Tissue samples (biopsies) can be taken during a colonoscopy as well.

Early Detection Is Key

New studies have shown, that the age to start thinking about having a colonoscopy is around the age of 45. This is important because finding an early detection of any issues in your digestive tract could potentially be life-saving. If we do find any problems during our colonoscopy, we will provide an extensive treatment plan to take care of the problem before it becomes a severe, life-threatening illness.

Procedures

Endoscopy

An upper endoscopy is a procedure used to visually examine your upper digestive system with a tiny camera on the end of a long, flexible tube. A specialist in diseases of the digestive system (gastroenterologist) uses endoscopy to diagnose and, sometimes, treat conditions that affect the esophagus, stomach and beginning of the small intestine (duodenum).
